Regulatory structure

AGLC and AiGC have different roles

Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) provides regulatory oversight and enforces compliance. Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) manages commercial market agreements, anti-money-laundering responsibilities, financial matters, and reporting income.

To operate legally in the regulated market, an operator must be registered with AGLC, sign an operating agreement with AiGC, and meet requirements concerning game integrity, fairness, player protection, and prevention of underage gambling.

How adults can verify a site

  1. Open the current AiGC registered-site directory.
  2. Find the exact operator or product name.
  3. Use the destination linked from that directory.
  4. Confirm the Alberta version and current terms.

Player-protection requirements

Government information describes financial and time-based limits, player account and transaction history, high-risk behaviour responses, reminders about safer-play tools, and integration with centralized self-exclusion.

Advertising and promotions

Advertising must be truthful, must not target minors or self-excluded people, and must include responsible gambling information. Promotion details can change; always read the material conditions presented by the operator.
